Printed by Space 1026; 2003

Edition of 50

Alice Oh works with a unique method that involves sparse planning but instead allows her painting to develop naturally as a “dialogue” between artist and artwork. She often works in series in order to see her dialogues to their logical conclusion. Greatly influenced by natural history, Oh is interested in the concurrence of microscopic and macroscopic life. Her work is included in the collections of Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Leeway Foundation, Temple University, Yale University and SAP America, Inc. Oh’s 2003 portfolio print was exhibited in the International Print Center New York’s New Prints 2004/Spring.

Prior to her involvement with Philagrafika, Oh exhibited at the Moore College of Art and Design, Pentimenti Gallery, the Philadelphia Museum of Jewish Art, and the San Francisco International Art Exposition. Her career has since expanded, with shows at The University of the Arts, Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Sande Webster Gallery, Philadelphia; International Fine Print Center New York, New York; and Dupont Center for Contemporary Art, Wilmington, DE, among other locales. Throughout her career as an artist, she has received a Pew Fellowship Grant, a W.O.A. and Seedling Grant from the Leeway Foundation, a GAP Grant from the Pew Fellowship in the Arts, and a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship Award in Painting.
